About Nadi Pariksha…

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medical science. It involves the symbiosis of mind, body and soul. Any imbalance in any of these, results in physical ailments. It is a natural health care system thought to be the "mother of healing". Unlike modern western medicine, which focuses on treating the symptoms of an illness, Ayurveda concentrates on the source of the disease using natural treatments to eliminate the root cause and promote the patient's inherent self-healing abilities by improving immunity.

One of the Ayurvedic ways to find out this imbalance is thru Nadi Pariksha (Examination of the pulse). It gives an idea of the patient's general condition and the type of illness. It is a unique technique of diagnosing disease. Nadi Pariksha helps to find the source of the disease and then using natural treatment it eliminates the root cause and helps to re-establish the harmony between the body, mind and Soul.

When an Ayurveda doctor examines the pulse he tries to discern the information regarding the stages of vata, pitta, kapha (Tri doshas) and other factors of diseases.

The breed of nadi vaidyas (Ayurveda doctors) who can diagnose a disease by examining the pulse is fast disappearing, probably due to lack of expertise. BUT, the same is now being revived thru The Art of Living.
